(UPDATE) FILIPINO Japanese karateka Junna Tsukii delivered the Philippines' first gold medal in the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, USA on Saturday.
Tsukii, the world's No. 5 in the women's kumite -50-kilogram category, defeated Venezuela's Yorgelis Salazar, 2-0, in the finals of the women's kumite under-50kg class to claim the championship and the country's second gold medal overall in the World Games.
