UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas (UST) academic staff and researcher Prof. Allan De Guzman, Ph.D., of the Research Center for Social Sciences and Education (RCSSED), arose as the Philippines's most productive researcher, according to two bibliometric studies written in 2021 and 2012.

In the paper Research on education in Southeast Asia (1996–2019): a bibliometric review by National University College of Education, Arts, and Sciences Dean Dr. Jessie Barrot, De Guzman was the most productive researcher (N=93) in Southeast Asia from 1996 to 2019. He still holds the top spot despite starting his publication years in 2004.
