MAJOR industries in the country have been hit by the pandemic. As the economy starts to bounce back, however, the Visayas, like other regions, is expected to put its businesses back on track, driving faster economic growth in the Philippines.

Located in the central part of the archipelago, the Visayas consists of several islands that include Panay, Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte and Samar. It hosts a vibrant export industry, including footwear, ICT and IT-enabled services, electronics, wearables, food processing, marine, houseware and furniture. Cebu has an international airport, making it an export hub without the need to pass through Manila.
