(UPDATE) THE country continued to experience an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases over the past week, but the Department of Health (DoH) maintained that the number of severe and critical infections remained below 1,000.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the National Capital Region (NCR or Metro Manila) is experiencing a "steep" increase in the number of new cases per day, which is now at an average of 350 per day.
