THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) hope to encourage the acceptance of digital payments in the nation's public markets and tricycle hubs by signing a joint memorandum circular on the Paleng-QR Ph program.

The circular, which seeks to institutionalize and promote the implementation of the Paleng-QR Ph program by local governments across the country, was signed by Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año and BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno in a ceremony at the BSP head office in Manila last June 21, according to a statement from the Bangko Sentral on Thursday night.
