Ex-Comelec commissioner Guanzon's gambit

GAMBIT is a machination or stratagem, typically entailing a degree of risk that is calculated to gain an advantage. In chess, this is an opening in which a player makes a sacrifice, typically of a pawn, for the sake of some compensating advantage (Merriam-Webster.com). This is exactly what former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Ma. Rowena Amelia V. Guanzon did in relation to the P3PWD party-list.

The Komunidad ng Pamilya, Pasyente at Persons With Disabilities (P3PWD) party-list participated in the May 9, 2022 national and local elections and, in the end, was able to secure one seat in the House of Representatives.
