(UPDATE) HEALTH Secretary Francisco Duque 3rd said that the country may experience a "very minor" surge in cases in the next few weeks because of waning immunity and the presence of the subvariants of the Omicron virus.

His comments come after independent pandemic tracker OCTA Research group said over the week that the National Capital Region may experience a "weak surge" by the end of June or early July.
