'Stagflation' no big threat to economy

THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said 'stagflation' — a state of slow growth, high unemployment and rising inflation — does not pose an immediate threat to the Philippine economy.

It voiced hope in the Philippine economy's long-term recovery in a statement released on Thursday, citing stronger-than-expected gross domestic product growth of 8.3 percent in the first quarter of 2022.
