Unplanned pregnancies now a 'real crisis' – UN

THE continued scope of unintended pregnancies, especially among adolescents, is now considered a 'real crisis' and a 'humanitarian issue' that needs to be resolved by stakeholders through increased access to services and information.

This comes as the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) released its 'State of the World Population' report for 2022, which showed that there were 121 million unintended pregnancies globally from 2015 to 2019, equivalent to 1 out of 2 women.
