Surigao Diamond Knights rule Mayor Sara chessfest

SURIGAO Diamond Knights outpointed Edmonton Oilers Uniteam, 280-144, in the finals to win the championship of the Philippine Chess League's Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio Cup held virtually via lichess platform.

The Knights, owned by Arena Grand Master Rey Urbiztondo, defeated the Oilers in the first game, 136-98, using the standard chess 10-minute play-to-finish time control format.
