Who would have thought that a song released in 2018 would become a hit in the Philippines four years later? Such was the case for American singer-songwriter Gatton whose single 'When Scars Become Art' quickly ascended to become the fastest growing, and one of the biggest, songs in the Philippines.

When Gatton posted a TikTok video of the song in January, it immediately went viral (5.4 million views, 664,000 likes, 6,441 comments and more than 900,000 user generated content videos using the audio) and sparked the song's incredible growth. The song also became number 1 for weeks on Spotify Philippines Viral 50 charts as a result of the TikTok trend.
