International employer group positive about PH seafaring

DESPITE threats hounding the country's manning industry in recent years, the chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), Esben Poulsson, remains confident in the Filipino seafarers' resilience and ability to take advantage of the many opportunities spawned by the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war as well as the recent lockdown in China.

Poulsson said Filipino seafarers were able to brave the rough challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the ensuing crew change crisis and the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
