ELECTRONIC data exchange in ports around the world will be mandatory for arriving, staying and departing ships, thus, marking a significant step in the acceleration of digitalization in shipping.
The amendment to the Facilitation Convention was adopted by the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Facilitation Committee, mandating public authorities to establish, maintain and use single window systems for the electronic exchange of information required on arrival, stay and departure of ships in ports.
