THE Iloilo City Government is set to open another dialysis center in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro, and will give free services to residents who are battling both chronic kidney disease and costly dialysis fees. 'The centerpiece of our administration is public health. That is why I made sure the dialysis center project will be realized. This is free dialysis treatment for Ilonggos who need them, and will defray them at least a P4,000 fee per dialysis session,' Mayor Jerry Treñas said. The San Isidro dialysis center will have 14 units to cater to more patients. The existing health center at the site has been retrofitted to operate as a dialysis center and will operate in the third quarter of this year. In December 2021, the city government inaugurated the Uswag Iloilo Dialysis Center in East Baluarte, Molo with three units. Those who can avail of hemodialysis treatment are bonafide residents of Iloilo City, indigents, and active members of Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
