UVALDE, Texas: Grieving families were to hold the first funerals on Tuesday for the 19 children and two teachers killed in a school shooting a week ago, with United States President Joe Biden vowing to push for stricter gun regulation.

Mourners attended wakes in Uvalde town in the US state of Texas on Monday for some of the young victims gunned down by an 18-year-old man who was then killed by police.
