SMPC remits record P5.9-B royalty to govt in Q1

INTEGRATED energy company Semirara Mining and Power Corp. (SMPC) has remitted around P5.9 billion in government royalties to the Department of Energy in its first quarter, the highest in its corporate history.

The first-quarter remittance represents an 807-percent surge from the P656 million that the company paid during the same period last year.
