LPA spotted off Surigao del Norte

A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted off Surigao del Norte early Tuesday morning but has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression, a weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Pagasa weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio told The Manila Times that the LPA was last seen past 3 a.m. some 60 kilometers north-northeast of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte or 95kms east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte.
