Suzuki S-Presso SE review – more than a basic cup of joe

THE last time Suzuki used a caffeinated name for its cars was in 1991 when they introduced the Cappuccino. Targeted only for the Japanese market, this turbocharged 660cc three-cylinder engine wears a miniature sports car suit. With a front engine and rear-wheel drive layout, it was a completely unique product in Suzuki's entire portfolio, being the only car to use this layout in this Kei car, a type of vehicle exclusive in Japan with engines having a maximum of 660cc.

While the Cappuccino was designed to be a premium, strong flavored sporty offering, the S-Presso — first launched in the country in 2020 — was designed to be everyone's cup of joe with its diminutive size, ample space, and a low-price tag starting at P523,000. The Special Edition (or SE), which sits on the top of the model trim menu, has a price tag of P568,000.
