Pope names Fil-Am to Vatican finance unit

The Vatican has announced that Pope Francis has appointed a Filipino American economist to the Holy See's financial intelligence and anti-money laundering unit.

Dr. Roberto Mariano will also serve as board member of the Supervisory and Financial Information Authority (Autorità di Supervisione e Informazione Finanziaria or ASIF).
