'Maximum tolerance' exercised in Marcos proclamation protest

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) employed 'maximum tolerance' in dispersing the protesters along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City during the proclamation of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the 17th president of the Philippines on Wednesday.

PNP officer-in-charge (OIC) Plt. Gen. Vicente 'Vic' Dupa Danao Jr., issued the statement on Thursday amid claims by Karapatan that at least 10 rallyists were hurt in the scuffle with a contingent from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) that barricaded the road leading to the Batasan Pambansa where the Senate and House of Representatives were in joint session for the proclamation of Marcos and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte.
