FOLLOWING a misunderstanding with one of its regional offices and real estate developer Megaworld Corp., the Department of Finance (DoF) has asked the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to halt the formation of special audit task forces.

The revenue special orders (RSO) creating special audit task forces on real estate developers and direct selling/multi-level marketing, as well as the operations memoranda (OM) creating task forces for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators and electronic sabong (e-Sabong), were suspended on Friday until further notice, according to a statement released by the DoF on Saturday.
