WASHINGTON, D.C.: The United States on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) gave its full support for Sweden's and Finland's applications to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), promising to stand by them if threatened by Russia and pressing Turkey to not block their membership.
