Law extending validity of gun license signed

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has approved a measure extending the validity of the license to own and possess, registration, and permit to carry firearms outside of residence or place of business.

Signed by the Chief Executive last May 6, Republic Act (RA) 11766 mandates that licenses to own and possess a firearm (LTOPF), regardless of type or classification, shall be renewed every five years or 10 years, 'at the option of the licensee, unless sooner revoked or suspended.'
