THERE is nothing illegal if Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio or other winning candidates in the May 9, 2022 elections take their oath of office before June 30, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.

Comelec Commissioner George Erwin Garcia on Tuesday said there is nothing in the Constitution that says elected officials should take their oath of office at exactly 12 noon of June 30.
