Local spread of new variant confirmed

(Update) THE Philippines has confirmed the local transmission of the BA.2.12.1 sublineage of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 with three new cases detected in Iloilo City, the Department of Health said.

The three cases were composed of one returning overseas Filipino (ROF) from the United States and two local cases.
