THE Department of Science and Technology's Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DoST-PNRI) recently held the ground-breaking ceremony for the Philippines' first privately operated electron-beam (e-beam) irradiation facility. The facility will address the irradiation needs of clients from both food and non-food sectors.
The project will be done in partnership with Irradiation Solutions Inc. (ISI), a 100 percent subsidiary of A Brown Company Inc. It will be built in Tanay, Rizal, with a total land area of 11,700 square meters for the e-beam and cold storage project.
