Congress should canvass votes for president — lawmaker

Deputy Speaker Rufus Rodriguez on Tuesday said that Congress should proceed with the canvassing of votes for President unless the Supreme Court issues an order stopping the count.

The lawmaker issued the statement following the filing of a petition by several individuals asking the high court to issue a temporary restraining order to stop the Senate and House of Representatives from canvassing the votes cast for Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and proclaiming him.
