'Fever' cases have risen to more than 524,000 since late April

SEOUL: North Korea announced 21 new 'fever' deaths and said more than half a million people had fallen ill nationwide on Saturday, two days after confirming its first-ever Covid-19 cases.

Despite activating its 'maximum emergency quarantine system' to slow the spread of the disease among its unvaccinated population, North Korea is reporting tens of thousands of new cases daily.
