PDIC takes over Bulacan thrift bank

THE Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) has taken over a thrift bank in Bulacan province that was closed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Farmers Savings and Loan Bank Inc. has been ordered liquidated by the central bank's Monetary Board in a decision dated May 12, this year, BSP Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier announced in a weekend circular.
