'Political dynasty' in Bulacan falls

THE rule of an established political family in Bulacan province is over after candidates from the National Unity Party (NUP) dominated the May 9, 2022 local and national elections.

The Sy-Alvarado family's more than three-decades of political reign headed by incumbent Vice Gov. Willy Sy-Alvarado ended when he was defeated by NUP standard bearer Gov. Daniel Fernando via a landslide.
