China, Japan laud conduct of PH polls

CHINA and Japan praised the Philippines' smooth conduct of its national elections on May 9, saying they were looking forward to working with the country's incoming new administration.

'China congratulated the Philippines on the smooth presidential election. Our congratulations also go to the leading candidates,' said China's foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian in a message coursed through the Chinese Embassy in Manila.
