MANILA Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Tuesday admitted defeat in the presidential race by congratulating former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and calling him "president-elect."
"Mayroon na pong pinili ang taumbayan (The people have chosen). I hope it can be official soon," Mayor Domagoso said in livestream aired over his official social media account. "Mayroon na pong pinili ang bawat Pilipino. Nais kong batiin si dating Sen. Bongbong Marcos...sa pagpili sa kaniya ng higit na nakararami bilang hahalinhin na pangulo ng ating bansa (Each Filipino has made a choice. I want to congratulate former Sen. Bongbong Marcos...who was chosen by the majority as our country's next president)."
