Councilman wins as Zamboanga mayor

ZAMBOANGA CITY: City Councilor John Dalipe won the mayoral election here after gathering 128,715 votes against his closest rival and veteran politician Celso Lobregat who received 91,835 votes based on the partial, unofficial Comelec tally on Tuesday afternoon.

It was the second loss for Lobregat, who also ran for mayor in 2019 but was defeated by incumbent Maria Isabelle 'Beng' Climaco-Salazar, who ran for Congress this time.
