Taliban order Afghan women to cover fully in public

KABUL: The Taliban has imposed one of the harshest restrictions on Afghanistan's women since seizing power by ordering them to cover themselves fully in public, ideally with the traditional burqa.

The militants took back control of the country last August, promising a softer rule than their last stint in power between 1996 and 2001, which was dominated by human rights abuses.
