A LEADING cloud-based distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) security solution provider, Nexusguard in its Annual Threat Report Q3 for 2021 says that during the pandemic, cyber attackers targeted industries providing connectivity, basic services and entertainment to populations forced to shelter-in-place. This has resulted in a 341 percent year-over-year increase in distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
Juniman Kasman, chief technology officer for Nexusguard, explained, "In 2020, the pandemic compelled a complete shift in how the world lived and worked. Cyber attackers were ready to take full advantage of the situation, adeptly targeting connectivity and entertainment providers."
