PHILIPPINE manufacturing continued to expand in April, with the purchasing managers' index (PMI) hitting a four-year high on the back of reduced pandemic restrictions.

At 54.3, the latest PMI was the highest since November 2017 and also an improvement from March's 53.2. It was the third successive month of above-50 results that signal an expansion. Readings below that point to a contraction.
