UP outlasts Ateneo, ends Blue Eagles winning run

The University of the Philippines (UP) outlasted Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), 84-83, as the Fighting Maroons ended the Blue Eagles winning run in 39 games in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 84 men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.

Ricci Rivero drained a pair of free throws to give UP the 84-83 lead with 22.2 seconds left in regulation, as SJ Belangel missed on his 3-point attempt in the last 1.6 seconds.
