THE government will consider the possibility of reimplementing the mandatory seven-day quarantine for arriving international travelers as a safeguard against Covid-19 variants, a senior health official said.

"The IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) will look into it further because many have already been vaccinated and thus have a good wall of immunity — about 75 percent of our population had been fully vaccinated — what is important is for visitors to observe minimum health protocols upon arrival and where ever they would go," Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said in a media briefing on Saturday.
