REP. Sharon Garin of the AAMBIS-Owa (Ang Asosasyon Sang Mangunguma Nga Bisaya-Owa Mangunguma, Inc.) party-list sought an investigation of agricultural smuggling which she said was a crime that victimizes farmers.
"Smuggling is economic sabotage, especially against our farmers. The La Trinidad Vegetables Traders group already said that local farmers are losing as much as P2.5 million every day due to carrot smuggling during the Senate hearings," the lawmaker said.
