Duterte signs e-vehicle law

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte signed into law a measure that will ramp up efforts to develop electric vehicles (EV) in the country.

Signed on April 15, Republic Act 11697, otherwise known as the 'Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act,' seeks the creation of a comprehensive roadmap for the electric vehicle industry (Crevi) that aims 'to accelerate the development, commercialization and utilization of EVs' in the Philippines.
