A COVID-19 surge will not stop the scheduled elections on May 9, 2022, or stop the 64.4 million registered voters from casting their votes, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Tuesday.
Commissioner George Garcia said a Covid-19 surge in a particular area, under the law, is not classified as "force majeure," like massive flooding and earthquake and other acts of nature.
