The Kingdom of the Netherlands has opened an Honorary Consulate in Davao. It will have consular jurisdiction over Zamboanga Peninsula (Regions 9), Northern Mindanao (Region 10), Davao Region (Region 11), Soccsksargen (Region 12), CARAGA (Region 13) and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

With the ceremonial unveiling of the shield with the Dutch coat of arms, Vice Mayor of Davao City Sebastian Duterte and Ambassador of the Netherlands Saskia de Lang officially opened the Honorary Consulate, thus marking a milestone in the 155 years history of Philippine-Dutch consular relations and 70 years of diplomatic relations.
