A MAGNITUDE 6.1 earthquake hit Davao Oriental early Thursday although no damage is expected, according to state seismologists.
Renato Solidum Jr., chief of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), said the tremor took place at 5:57 a.m. some 78 kilometers southeast of the municipality of Manay.
