'China's economy may rise 5.9% in 2022'

BEIJING: An economist expects China's gross domestic product (GDP) to grow 5.9 percent this year, higher than the 5.5-percent target set by Beijing, according to a recent Bloomberg report.

Yi David Wang, chief China economist at Credit Suisse Group AG, said he could revise his projection closer to 5.6 percent once the impact of coronavirus lockdowns becomes clearer.
