FOLLOWING last Wednesday's debacle that saw tens of thousands of commuters stranded for hours due to the Department of Transportation's decision to allow two of the three light rail lines to shut down for "maintenance" on a regular workday, every piece of news related to Metro Manila's transport crisis has been progressively more idiotic.

On Saturday, a party-list lawmaker responded to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's (MMDA) plan to implement a two-day number-coding scheme — which is indeed a ridiculous idea — with a suggestion that would encourage even more people to drive.
