Macron, Le Pen gear up for last week of campaign

PARIS: The two remaining contenders in the French presidential race returned to the fray on Monday after a brief Easter pause in campaigning and ahead of a high-stakes televised debate.

President Emmanuel Macron and far-right challenger Marine Le Pen both attended low-key meetings on Monday, pacing themselves until Wednesday's face-off, which could become the key to victory.
