BRASILIA: Brazil announced on Sunday (Monday in Manila) that it would lift within days public health emergency measures that have been placed for over two years, citing a drop in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections for the move.

More than 660,000 people died of Covid-19 in Brazil, one of the hardest-hit countries, second only to the United States.
