Showbiz mourns death of veteran actress Gloria Sevilla

The Philippine film and television industry mourns the death of Gloria Sevilla, dubbed as the 'Queen of Visayan movies.' The veteran actress passed away on April 16 in Oakland, California, USA. She was 90 years old.

For starring at numerous Visayan films in the 1950s and 1960s, Sevilla earned the titled 'Queen of Visayan Movies.' Some of her notable Visayan films in-clude 'Gimingaw Ako (Longing for someone)', 'Pailub lang (Be humble),' 'Badlis sa kinabuhi (Destiny).' She won Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in 1962 film 'Madugong Paghihiganti (Bloody Revenge).'
