TODAY is the Easter Vigil in anticipation of Christianity's commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, when He conquered death after saving the world from eternal death. Like the lamb sacrificed in the Jewish Passover, we believe that to accept Him is to avail of His blood which washes our sins.

Culturally, most Filipinos have accepted Christianity and find comfort in the Lord who became human and understands suffering, and who, like us, experienced temptation, hunger, humiliation and the joy of life. He is Emmanuel, God who was with us, 'ang Diyos na nakipagkapwa-tao.' And because He conquered death, darkness will soon end in our lives, and we too can hope for kaginhawahan.
