Death toll from 'Agaton' hits 148, damage nears P200M

(UPDATE) The death toll from landslides and flooding in the Philippines triggered by tropical storm Agaton (international name: Megi) has risen to 148 while damage to agriculture and infrastructure neared the P200 million mark, government authorities said.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Friday that damage to agriculture and infrastructure in the Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas and parts of Mindanao was estimated at P186,632,976.31 and P6,950,000.
